Politique locale. Commune, département, région. Résumé : The French municipal elections of March and June 2020 were marked by the health crisis. In the midst of the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, voter turnout hit a record low. This phenomenon could be interpreted as a new manifestation of disinterest in politics. However, the elections also saw a rebirth of political mobilisation. They were characterised by the emergence of “citizens’ lists” made up of newcomers not affiliated to any party organisations. The latest elections therefore clearly provide more evidence of a mistrust in politics, and more precisely in the “governing” parties – a mistrust which, though not a complete novelty, has grown considerably over the past decade.
